Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ is an international marine conservation organization founded in 1977 by Paul Watson. It focuses on protecting oceans and marine wildlife through direct action, such as confronting illegal whaling, fishing, and poaching at sea. The group is known for its bold, sometimes controversial tactics and its slogan: โ€œDefending Wildlife, Defending the Sea.โ€

This project is with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an international marine conservation organisation that runs direct-action campaigns at sea.

Volunteers join the crew on one of several Sea Shepherd ships and help with all aspects of life and work on board. The minimum time commitment is usually two to three months, with long work weeks at sea and shared cabins, while food and a bunk are provided on the ship. Volunteers must pay their own travel costs and a non-refundable application fee, so this opportunity suits committed activists ready for an intense and demanding experience.
