Mission for Community Development (MCODE) is a community-based not-for-profit organization working for the development of grassroots communities focusing on youth, women and children. MCODE’s main activities are formal school education, health promotion, poverty eradication and environmental care.

Volunteers with disabilities are welcome – MCODE has no restrictions on people with disabilities because it is one of the areas that MCODE works in.

Nutritious local food varieties are available with the possibility to provide three meals, vegetarians can be accommodated.

Fees transparency 🆓🔍

We don’t ask for any fees. If a volunteer requires special food that is not available at our disposal, that is when we can ask a volunteer to buy that food and we prepare it.

Yes, we can help with Visa/invitation letters ✅

Volunteers’ benefits 🏆🏅

Language lessons, guidance on some local tours, visiting the host’s relatives and a certificate at the end of the volunteering period.

What to do in your free time 🚴🚣🦒

The volunteer decides what to do but usually walks around and plays with the locals and watches cultural performances.

In Uganda, there are several languages spoken, but the official language is English. Other languages spoken in Uganda include Swahili, Luganda, Lusoga, Runyankore, Rukiga, Acholi, and many more.

How to get to your site ✈ 🗺

Getting to our project sites can be by taxis and buses plus motorbikes in some remote sites BUT with the help of the host representative
