How to use this page
Using this page is easy. Simply click on the announcement that interests you and check the date of publication to ensure the opportunity is still valid. In the Contact Details section, you’ll find free ways to get in touch with the hosts, including their website, email, phone number, and application form. Once you’ve contacted the organization, sit tight and wait for a reply.
Volunteering in Sri Lanka… for Independent Travelers
Some of the opportunities listed here are completely free, with hosts providing food and accommodation in exchange for your voluntary work. Others may require a daily or monthly contribution fee to cover living expenses. Please keep in mind that many areas in Asia are still developing and volunteering may not always be a “free” thing.
In addition to living expenses, volunteers are responsible for purchasing their own flights, train tickets, and insurance (if required), as well as any necessary visa or passport costs.
If you want to make an impact but have only a few weeks to volunteer abroad, we recommend choosing a non-free opportunity. By contributing your skills and money, you can help support local communities and NGOs in Sri Lanka.
Our website, Voluntouring, is not a tourism agency and does not charge any intermediation fees for the organizations listed below. All of your money will go directly to support the NGO or community where you choose to volunteer.
