Explore slacklining volunteer opportunities and cultural exchanges where participants can practise, teach or share slacklining skills through community activities, workshops, festivals and creative projects.
Some hosts welcome experienced slackliners to introduce the activity to others, while community projects may organise informal practice sessions or opportunities to learn together. The activities and experience required vary between hosts.
What is slacklining? 🤸
Slacklining is a balance activity that involves standing, walking or performing movements on a flat, flexible webbing line stretched between two anchor points. Unlike traditional tightrope walking, the line can move and stretch under the participant’s weight. Slacklining includes different styles, from low lines used for recreation to more specialised acrobatic disciplines.
Slacklining workshops and skill exchanges
Depending on the project, volunteers may help introduce beginners to slacklining, demonstrate techniques, facilitate practice sessions or share their experience at community events.
If slacklining interests you, ask whether sessions are organised regularly, who leads them and whether equipment is provided. Having a slackline available for recreation does not necessarily mean that instruction or workshops are offered.
How to use this page
Check each listing’s publication date and confirm current activities, required experience, working hours, days off, accommodation, meals, minimum stay and any fees or contributions directly with the host.
Slacklining involves a risk of falls and injuries. Ask about suitable equipment, secure anchor points, tree protection, supervision and safe practice areas. Highlining and advanced techniques require specialist skills and safety systems.
