Volunteering in rice fields
Depending on the farm, volunteers may help prepare growing areas, transplant seedlings, maintain irrigation channels, remove weeds or assist with harvesting and post-harvest activities. Some projects also combine rice farming with gardening, community activities and agricultural education.
Rice cultivation is seasonal and can involve working in muddy fields, humid conditions and strong sunlight. Ask whether you will actually participate in rice growing or help with other farm activities during your stay.
