Island and Beach opportunities often overlap, but they are not the same. An island project may be inland, mountainous or agricultural and have little connection with the coast, while many beach and coastal projects are located on the mainland.

Check the exact island and location before applying. Transport can vary considerably: some projects are connected by regular ferries, flights or public transport, while others may require private boat transfers or advance arrangements with the host.
Confirm the current activities, weekly hours, days off, accommodation, meals, minimum stay and any fees or compensation. For remote islands, also ask about drinking water, electricity, internet access, shops, healthcare, weather conditions and what happens if ferries or other transport are disrupted.
