What is Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY)? 🇪🇺
Interreg Volunteer Youth, usually shortened to IVY, is an initiative funded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and managed by the Association of European Border Regions. Volunteers support Interreg programmes and projects that promote cooperation between regions. IVY includes Interreg Project Partners, who assist with project activities, and Interreg Reporters, who communicate and report on the results of territorial cooperation.
Who can participate?
Current IVY placements are open to eligible young people aged 18–30 from participating countries. Volunteering experiences normally last between two and six months. Participants receive financial support intended to help cover living expenses, and current official information also describes travel and insurance support depending on the placement.
Eligibility, location, skills and language requirements vary between individual offers, so always check the conditions of the specific placement rather than assuming that every IVY opportunity has the same requirements.
