Explore directing volunteer opportunities and creative projects where directing, assistant directing or closely related production responsibilities are a genuine part of the role.
Opportunities may be connected with film, video, theatre or other productions. This is a specific skills tag rather than a general category for every filmmaking or artistic project.
What counts as directing? 🎬
On Voluntouring, this tag is used when directing or assisting a director is an actual part of the opportunity. This may involve helping organise scenes or rehearsals, coordinating creative production work or supporting a director on set. Simply filming, editing video or working on an artistic project does not by itself make an opportunity a directing role.
Directing and film-making
Directing is one part of a wider production process. A project may therefore also appear under Film-making when volunteers are involved in broader video or film production. Check the individual listing to understand the exact responsibilities and whether previous experience is required.
How to use this page
Check the publication date and confirm the current role, required experience, schedule, working conditions, accommodation, meals and any payment or costs directly with the host or production. Older calls may relate to a specific production period and no longer be active.
