What is carpentry? 🪚

General construction does not automatically involve carpentry, so check the actual tasks described by each host.
Tools, experience and safety
Carpentry can involve hand tools, saws, drills, power tools, ladders, heavy materials and sharp edges. Ask which tools volunteers will use, what protective equipment is provided and who supervises unfamiliar or technical work. Do not operate equipment you have not been shown how to use safely.
If a project requires structural work or professional-level carpentry, confirm that tasks are matched to your experience and that suitably competent supervision is available.
