Join the tribal gathering in Panama from the 29th of February to the 15th of March

Tribal Gathering is the Earths most international gathering of indigenous tribes and ethnic minorities from all over the world.

Thanks to your participation we are able to bring together all those tribes, as well as be of better support to their needs and to the preservation of their culture and wisdom.

It’s not about becoming indigenous, it’s about re-membering indigenous; in our dancing, in our breathing, in our DNA, remembering our connection to mother Earth, to Father Sky, to the stars, the ancestors, and to dreams.

What does it mean to be indigenous?

According to Wikipedia, Indigenous peoples, also known as First peoples, Aboriginal peoples or Native peoples, are ethnic groups who are the original owners and caretakers of a given region, in contrast to groups that have settled, occupied or colonized the area more recently. Groups are usually described as indigenous when they maintain traditions associated with a given region.

The late Ralph Metzner said

“We have it backwards in our conventional view. The world of the indigenous is the original First World because it has been here the longest and it was here first. The so-called First World of the industrialized North is first only in capital wealth and military force.

Those cultures that were superimposed later on the enduring world of the aboriginal inhabitants are the ones that should be called Second, Third Worlds. I realize that the lifestyle of these “true, original humans” is much the same as that of Celtic and pre-Indo-European ancestors in the neolithic village cultures of Old Europe – a mixed subsistence economy of farming and gardening, with some hunting and fishing. Everyone was attuned to the recurring cycles of nature, revering nature and all the gods and goddesses that animate the world of visible living beings and that connect us to the invisible realms of spirits, of the ancestors, and of dreams. A few such cultures have survived more or less intact to this day”
