This is a small family organic farm near Macaé, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

A single father is raising two young children and starting a beginner eco-project that focuses on organic food, clean energy and simple country life. The host welcomes one volunteer at a time to help with babysitting, gardening, farming, cleaning and small building tasks. You usually help around 4–5 hours per day, 6 days per week, and receive basic food and accommodation in a private room. The family mainly eats a simple vegetarian diet with rice and beans, and volunteers can cook meat if they want. There are no participation fees. Some weekends you can visit nearby beaches and go surfing with the host. There is no Wi-Fi, so this project suits people who can enjoy offline time, nature and family life while practising Portuguese or English in a relaxed environment.
