Smokinya Foundation in Sofia, Bulgaria hosted a long term European Solidarity Corps project called “offLINE – from volunteer towards employed.”
The program invited two young people from EU countries to volunteer full time for one year. Volunteers supported daily office work such as preparing youth projects, events and trainings. They also helped at a partner mountain bike shop and organised monthly public events, gaining practice in planning, promotion, budgeting and facilitation. During the year they developed skills in project management, teamwork, leadership, media work, networking and non formal education. Volunteers worked around 35 hours per week and received free accommodation, food, materials and travel reimbursement within Erasmus+ limits. The opportunity targeted unemployed young adults aged 20 to 30 who were in a transition phase and wanted to improve their employability and confidence through structured volunteering.
From web search, this specific 2019–2020 project is no longer recruiting, but Smokinya Foundation is still active and runs new ESC projects, including 2025 opportunities in rural Bulgaria.
