Public Transit
The ride from Colombo to Matara takes 3.5 – 5 hours by bus, or 3.5 hours by train. Mirissa is located 12 km before Matara city. We are happy to arrange a car and a driver for the trip from our hostels at the airport or in Mirissa (surcharge), or you can use public transportation. If you come by train, you can hop off at Mirissa railway station, which is 3 km from our hostel. From the station, you can take a tuk-tuk or walk.
If you come by bus from Colombo to Matara, ask the driver to let you off near Beachside Road in Mirissa. Follow the main road until you see Beachside Road and an ATM on the left side (there are only 2 ATMs in Mirissa). Then walk along Beachside Road and you will soon see our hostel on your left-hand side.
