Volunteer at Faka Ranch, a remote equestrian farm in the volcanic highlands and along the east coast of Madagascar. The ranch cares for around 50 horses, a mix of local Malagasy breeds and ex-racehorses from Mauritius rescued through a rehabilitation programme. Volunteers help with daily horse care, riding, basic veterinary assistance and general ranch tasks, while also supporting a local team of about 10 staff. In return they receive food and accommodation and can experience a very different culture in one of the worldâs poorest but warmest countries. English or French speakers are especially welcome to help share language skills.
