Report a listing or unsafe content on Voluntouring.org ⚠️

Purpose of this page

Voluntouring.org is running a cleanup project. Some older listings may include outdated language, missing context, or details that are no longer accurate. If something on the site feels unsafe, misleading, exploitative, or simply out of date, please report it so we can review and improve the information.

We take reports seriously and handle them in a neutral, procedural way. Reporting a page does not automatically mean wrongdoing. It means a listing needs a closer look for accuracy, safeguarding, and ethical standards.

What to submit

Please include the following details in your report. The more specific you are, the faster we can understand the issue.

  • The Voluntouring.org page URL you are reporting.
  • What feels wrong, using clear facts where possible (for example, “the location is closed” or “the terms changed after I applied”).
  • Evidence or supporting links (official websites, updated pages, public statements, reputable news sources, review pages, or archived versions).
  • Optional screenshot (if helpful). Please remove personal details first. If you cannot upload files here, describe what the screenshot shows and add any relevant links.

Examples of reasons people report

Keep your report simple. A short explanation is enough. Examples include:

  • Safeguarding concerns or unclear supervision and policies.
  • Fees or “donations” that are hidden, unclear, or presented in a misleading way.
  • Excessive hours, unsafe work conditions, or unrealistic expectations.
  • Visa or legal claims that sound incorrect or too good to be true.
  • Outdated or closed opportunities, broken links, or inactive contacts.
  • Aggressive recruiting, pressure tactics, or requests for unusual payments or documents.
  • Possible scam signals such as inconsistent identities, copied text, or repeated reposting under new names.

High-risk content involving minors

Listings involving residential childcare, orphanages, or direct access to minors are treated as high-risk. Depending on what we find, these pages may be removed or converted into educational content that explains safeguarding risks and ethical concerns, rather than promoting placement opportunities.

Privacy and safety note

Please do not share children’s photos, sensitive personal data, or private contact details in your report. Avoid passports, full addresses, medical information, or private messages that include personal identifiers. If you need to reference a conversation, describe what happened and redact names, faces, phone numbers, emails, and any identifying information.

What happens next

After you submit a report, we review the page and the supporting information. We may also contact the listing owner for clarification when appropriate. Based on the review, we may:

  • Update wording for accuracy,
  • add missing context,
  • add a stronger safety note,
  • mark the page as outdated,
  • set it to noindex,
  • move it to draft,
  • remove it, or redirect it to a safer educational resource page.

If information is unclear or cannot be verified, we may limit visibility until the listing can be corrected.
