Visa for Tanzania โ€“ย A volunteer trip to Tanzania is ideal for all nature lovers; on the one hand, the natural parks and on the other the wonderful sea. Also, the safaris in Tanzania are among the best in the world and the white beaches of the Zanzibar archipelago never disappoint.ย And this is precisely the winning combination for a Tanzania tour: Volunteer + Safari + a visit to Zanzibar.

How to obtain a Visa for Tanzania

To enter Tanzania, you need a passport with residual validity of 6 months from the time of entry into the country and a visa.

You can apply for a visa from your country via your local embassy.

You can also do it directly on arrival in Tanzania, at the three main airports: Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar Kilimanjaro; after filling out the application form, taking photos, and fingerprints, you will pay $50 (or โ‚ฌ50) per person in cash or by credit card.ย Remember that they only accept dollars not older than 2006.

If you fly with scheduled airlines, you will only pay the visa on entry; on the contrary, if you travel with tour operator charters, you will also have to pay the exit tax, only in cash.

Note:

Always check with the embassy website if they have made any changes with regard to visas.

Tanzania when to go

When planning a trip to Tanzania, it is important to consider the time of your stay based on the reason for the trip, which animals you want to see and where you want to go.

Tanzania has a tropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the year. The seasons are divided into dry and rainy, which alternate during the year as follows

  • short dry: from the end of December to the end of March.
  • long rainy: end of March to May
  • long dry: June to November.
  • rainy: November to December.

In general, the best times for a trip to Tanzania are January and February and then from June to September, during the dry season. Obviously, these are also the most touristy months.
