Tribal Gathering in Panama

Tribal Gathering in Panama is an 18-day transformational festival that takes place on Playa Chiquita, also known as Hippie Beach, along the Caribbean coast of Panama. Organised by GeoParadise, this event is a rare fusion of indigenous cultural exchange and immersive musical, spiritual, and artistic experiences.

The festival typically occurs under a full moon in early March.

Festival Dates and Tickets

The 2025 edition of Tribal Gathering is scheduled for March 8 to 24.

Looking ahead, the 2026 festival is expected to run from February 27 to March 16.

Ticket options vary depending on the phase of the gathering, including access to the full experience, the “Wisdom Keepers” period focused on indigenous teachings, and the “Tribal Futures” portion that blends modern and ancestral influences.

Volunteering is also a possible route that allows travellers to attend the event: helping build, clean, or staff duties in exchange for a pass.

Festival experience

The first two-thirds of the gathering centres around indigenous immersion.

During this period, visitors participate in storytelling, healing ceremonies, artisan workshops, and rituals led by elders and representatives from over 60 tribes across more than 30 countries. The final stretch of the event transforms into a vibrant music festival. Genres include psytrance, techno, house, drum and bass, and global fusion, performed across multiple dedicated stages such as the Global Stage, Lotus Stage, and Tribal Stage.

Other attractions include circus acts, fire shows, and eclectic beats at the Pirate Bar.

Workshops & activities

More than 200 workshops are offered, covering topics like permaculture, meditation, indigenous medicine, crafts, sustainability, and alternative financial systems. .

Sustainability and Community values

Tribal Gathering is entirely off-grid.

Composting toilets, well-filtered water, and locally sourced food are standard. Festival structures are built using sustainable materials, and no open fires are permitted outside designated communal fire pits. The event is a platform for indigenous voices and is organized by GeoParadise, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to cultural preservation and environmental awareness. Participation by tribal communities is not only welcomed but central to the gathering’s mission and message.

Logistics

Accessing the site requires planning.

The location is remote, and shuttle services from the nearest airport are generally necessary. Attendees must bring their own camping gear or arrange to rent glamping accommodations onsite. Facilities include basic showers, food and drink vendors, and first-aid stations.

However, there are no ATMs, and the nearest town is over two hours away, so preparation is key.

2025 Lineup Preview

Artists scheduled to perform in 2025 include Afrodisiaco, Alexandra Papadakis, 2 Bad Mice, Mad Professor, ill-esha, Vekked, Zompantli, and many others.
