Volunteer at a Hackspace in Wendland, Germany

Rundling village in Wendland, Lower Saxony, Germany - half-timbered farmhouses along a winding road amid fields, with distant wind turbines.

Curious about lending a hand where creativity meets countryside? In Wendland, volunteers help conserve the Elbtalaue Biosphere Reserve, monitor cranes and beavers along the Elbe, and clear invasive plants from sandy heath. Others join organic farms and community gardens, learning seed saving, buckwheat harvesting, and low-impact building. Culture matters here, too: during the Kulturelle Landpartie, barns become pop-up galleries, and extra hands are welcomed for staging, signage, and artist hospitality.

Queer-Hackspace in the countryside: Tinker, grow, and belong in Wendland’s Permaculture Paradise!
