Sensitize and Empower Tanzania is a non for profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable children through education and sports. Further, it focuses on Environmental conservation and human health. It is linked with Wendyrayna Secondary School, thus it raises funds to pay for underprivileged children to stay at boarding school for their safety and health. The school provides boarding facilities, counselling services that is not provided by any other school and hot meals that ensures healthy students.
SET welcomes volunteers to assist in grant writing, language teaching, sports activities and agricultural matters, especially school gardens. At the same time, it gives volunteers new experiences through the adventure by visiting National parks to experience natural forests, wild animals, birds etc.

What’s the mission of your community? 🎯

We are looking for volunteers so that they build capacity for local people to carry on the good work of helping people even when the Volunteers leave. So WE NEED SOFT SKILLS that will take us to the organization’s mission which seeks “To expedite efforts being directed at improving education, reducing poverty and burden of diseases, and sustaining the natural environment in the development processes.”

How to get to your site ✈ 🗺

Volunteers can get to our place by International aeroplane to Dar es Salaam (Julius Nyerere International Airport) and then take the local aeroplane to Iringa Airport. From there, our car will pick them up. The place is in Iringa- Tanzania.

Is there internet access? 🌐

Yes, but not very strong.
