Volunteer on an olive farm in Sicily, Italy

Sicily Olive Grove Volunteer – Segesta (Meals & Stay) – Shared via our Facebook group: a small family project near Calatafimi Segesta welcomes volunteers to help keep their olive grove and home running smoothly. It’s a relaxed rural exchange with views toward the Segesta temple and theatre and a friendly mix of English/Italian/Spanish.

Segesta, Trapani (Sicily). A family project is hosting volunteers in an olive grove just outside Calatafimi Segesta. The help is practical: care for the grove, keep common areas tidy, do small fix-ups or painting, and pitch in with simple house tasks. The rhythm is about five hours a day, five days a week, with two days free.

Volunteers stay in a small house set inside the grove (up to four people). Three home-cooked meals are provided, and the atmosphere is social – English, Italian and Spanish are spoken. Sunsets, a BBQ corner, the Angimbè woodland next door and the Segesta temple and theatre in view make the setting easy to enjoy; on free days, you can reach beaches or the local hot springs when the family schedule allows (two young children live on site).

This is a volunteer exchange, not a free stay.

The hosts look for people aged roughly 21-45 who are happy to follow simple house guidelines.

Passionate Volunteers Wanted: An Adventure in Segesta, Trapani! ✨

Looking for a unique volunteer experience in Sicily? 🇮🇹

We invite you to join our family project in the beautiful setting of Segesta!

We’re looking for enthusiastic people to help us with tasks in our olive grove 🧑‍🌾, house maintenance, and minor tasks (painting, cleaning, etc.).

We Offer:

Help time is 5 days a week, 5 hours a day, with 2 days off. Flexible times and days so that it works for everyone.

A shared private house for up to 4 volunteers, located in an olive grove near the town of Calatafimi Segesta.

3 home-cooked meals a day.

A BBQ area with spectacular views of the sunset and the ancient theater.

The chance to get to know the Sicilian culture first-hand. The local towns have very interesting architecture, and you can see the temple and theater of Segesta right from our house! In your free time, you can also visit beaches and thermal baths (depending on our family schedule, as we have two young girls, ages 2 and 6).

The Bosco Angimbe nature reserve is right next to the olive grove.

A social atmosphere, as we speak English, Italian, and Spanish, and love to share our home with new people.

What We’re Looking For:

This is a volunteer project, not a free hotel. 😉 We want people who understand the difference so that the experience is great for everyone! We’re looking for:
Good-spirited people between 21 and 45 years old.

  • People who understand that in a volunteer exchange, both parties are willing to share, do their part, and enjoy the experience.
  • Those who aren’t just looking to do their laundry and then move on.
  • Anyone who understands the spirit of volunteering  […]
  • People who are willing to follow these simple instructions.
Important Information (Please Read Before Contacting!):
  • Your Own Responsibility: Volunteers must handle their own entry into the country (visas, etc.). We do not provide invitation letters.
  • Duration: Stays can be from 1 week (minimum) to 1 month (maximum).
  • Transportation: You must be able to get to the town of Calatafimi Segesta on your own.
  • Dates: We accept volunteers from March to November (olive harvest is from September to November!).
  • Diet: We offer the same meals our family eats; we cannot accommodate special diets.

If you’re ready to live this adventure and meet the requirements, please send us an email to Segestaexperience@gmail DOT com. We can’t wait to hear from you! 💌
