Help with animals and farm activities in Costa Rica

Updated November 2025. This listing describes a volunteer project on a rural mountain farm near Dos Bocas, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. We could not confirm its current status, so interested volunteers should always contact the host directly and check availability and conditions before making travel plans.

We need volunteers to help create a small mountain camp and farm that gives local and foreign visitors the chance to enjoy nature, farm activities and Costa Rican traditions, including activities with nearby indigenous communities. Volunteers can learn Spanish through daily conversation and discover typical food, customs and rural life. One of our long term ideas is to build a traditional β€œtrapiche”, a rustic system used to extract sugar cane.
