Note about the volunteer work and other expectations 📝

Volunteers offer their contribution unwaged, but they receive many practical benefits in return, including accommodation, meals, pocket money, airport pickup, school trips, local support, and the chance to take part in a structured intercultural program.

Volunteers will be part of the International Department of Preparatoria Federal por Cooperación Melchor Ocampo. They will share their country’s culture in English with high school students from Monday to Friday.

Volunteers will be guided and supported by local staff while assisting in Foreign Culture Class. Usually, volunteers prepare two to three 50-minute class sessions per week, which are then repeated in different classrooms.

You are expected to cover around fourteen to twenty 50-minute Foreign Culture Class sessions a week, plus preparation and office work where you may prepare classes, mark homework, create examinations, and grade students.

Class topics may include your own country’s traditions, culture, society, education, tourism, music, history, sports, literature, food, art, science, and other themes. Classes are guided by the school team, but volunteers are encouraged to enrich the sessions with their own ideas.

All of this takes place in a friendly, respectful, and tolerant environment.
