Süreyya, a cheerful and open-minded host, recently shared his farm volunteer opportunity in Turkey with our international volunteering community, and we are glad to feature it here. He welcomes international volunteers to join him on his small and charming farm, located just an hour from the Aegean coast in western Türkiye. This is a region known for its fertile lands, ancient civilisations, and breathtaking sunsets over the sea.
Volunteer exchange description
Life on the farm is simple, peaceful, and rooted in values of humility, self-sufficiency, and tolerance. Volunteers are invited to take part in everyday tasks that keep the homestead running smoothly. You might begin your day helping in the kitchen, preparing food with fresh local produce, or tending to the garden and plants. At other times, there may be small renovation projects, light repairs, or even creative opportunities such as painting murals. The idea is not only to lend a hand but to contribute your own skills, talents, and creativity to the atmosphere of the place.
The daily rhythm is balanced
About five hours of help per day, five days a week. In exchange, volunteers receive accommodation in one of three simple yet comfortable rooms (with single-room options available when space allows) and two freshly prepared home-cooked meals each day. Afternoons and evenings are often free, giving you time to relax, explore, or enjoy meaningful conversations. Nights on the farm are special: imagine sipping homemade wine together at sunset, watching the stars in a clear sky, or joining in an open-air movie. These shared experiences create unforgettable memories for both guests and host.
Stays are for a minimum of two weeks, with the option to extend by mutual agreement if it feels right for both sides. Süreyya places great importance on creating a space of love, peace, and tolerance. He appreciates volunteers who are reliable, kind, and open to new experiences. In return, he offers not only a place to stay but also a welcoming environment where you can feel at home, recharge, and live at a slower, more intentional pace.
Beyond the work exchange, there is also a cultural dimension.
This area of Türkiye is deeply rich in history and traditions. The Aegean has been home to many civilisations, and the nearby towns and landscapes are full of stories waiting to be discovered. Volunteers may have the chance to explore local markets, taste regional foods, or learn more about the rhythms of rural life in Türkiye. Süreyya himself embodies a spirit of gratitude and joy, often saying:
“Life is too short to lament what doesn’t exist – thank you, Life.”
This is an opportunity to step away from commercial pressures and daily distractions, and instead reconnect with nature, community, and a simpler way of living. If you are looking for meaningful exchange, slow living, and authentic human connection, this small farm near Manisa might be the right fit for you.

We can sip our homemade wine together at sunset. Maybe we can watch an open-air movie under the stars.
I’d like to help you in the kitchen first. The rest of the time, I’d like to help with gardening and minor home renovations.

We have three volunteer rooms. If no other volunteers are available, you can stay in a single room alone.
You can stay here for at least two weeks.
If you enjoy it, feel happy, and at peace, you can stay longer by mutual agreement.
Now, I’d like to tell you a little about myself:
I live my life not driven by commercial concerns, but by a belief in simplicity, humility, self-sufficiency, and tolerance.
I try to eat healthy and do my best to live a peaceful and enjoyable life in harmony with nature, together with my animal friends.
I’m a cheerful, open-minded person who loves sincerity.
I’ve accepted my own path.
And finally, I’ve learned:
“Life is too short to lament what doesn’t exist.”
That’s why I always say, “Thank you, Life.”
