Yoga Mela volunteer opportunity in Sweden 2026

Updated in June 2026. Yoga Mela, the International Yoga & Sacred Music Festival held at Divinya – Center for Evolutionary Consciousness in the south of Sweden, has announced an updated 10-day volunteering opportunity for the 2026 edition.

Volunteers can now join the festival team from July 8 to July 19, 2026 and receive a full festival ticket free of charge, together with three meals per day, a tenting spot and free time to attend parts of the festival program.

International Yoga and Sacred Music Festival in a spiritual community in Sweden

Yoga Mela celebrates living spirituality, sacred music, authentic yoga, kirtan, workshops, Satsang, community meals and shared festival life. The event takes place at Divinya, a spiritual living and learning community located near Eslöv, in the south of Sweden.

The festival brings together people from different countries who wish to experience yoga, sacred music and community life in a peaceful natural setting. Volunteers are invited to support the practical flow of the festival and help create a welcoming space for guests, artists, teachers, families and other participants.

A non-profit and volunteer-based festival

Yoga Mela describes itself as a non-profit and voluntary-based festival. Volunteering is presented as a form of seva, or selfless service, and as a way to experience the festival from within rather than only as a guest.

For the 2026 edition, the main volunteer period is shorter than in previous years. Volunteers are asked to arrive on July 8, join the preparation days on July 9–10, support the festival from July 11–18, and leave on July 19.

What volunteers receive in 2026

The current Yoga Mela volunteer update says that approved volunteers receive a full festival ticket free of charge, three meals per day, a tenting spot and free time to attend concerts, yoga classes, workshops and other programs during the festival.

This is a volunteer exchange, not a paid job. Travel costs, personal insurance, documents and any visa-related responsibilities remain with each volunteer. Voluntouring.org does not arrange travel reimbursement, visas or invitation letters.

Volunteer teams open for applications

Yoga Mela is inviting volunteers to apply for different teams. The newsletter received in June 2026 highlights three main areas: Café & Barista, Children’s Camp and All-Rounder.

Café & Barista

The Café team helps create a warm and welcoming gathering place during the festival. Tasks may include preparing coffee and tea, serving sweet treats, supporting the pizza team and helping with juices, ice cream and other café counters.

Children’s Camp

The Children’s Camp team supports a joyful, safe and inspiring space where children and teenagers can play, explore, take part in activities and make friends during the festival. This role requires particular care, reliability, appropriate boundaries and close coordination with the festival team.

All-Rounder

All-Rounder volunteers help wherever needed. Tasks may include setting up spaces, supporting guests, moving materials, keeping shared areas tidy, helping behind the scenes and contributing to the daily flow of the festival.

Yoga Mela is a non-profit and volunteer-based festival. Co-creating the festival means taking part in the practical life behind the event: preparing spaces, welcoming participants, supporting shared meals, helping the daily flow and contributing to the atmosphere of care and togetherness.

At the same time, this is not a passive festival stay. Volunteers are expected to contribute actively every day. The 2026 volunteer period includes two preparation days with longer shifts, followed by the eight festival days with shorter daily shifts and free time to attend parts of the program.
