Note about the volunteer work and other expectations

Here you can learn with us how to live surrounded by nature. If you are accustomed to the city, you will begin to perceive all-natural elements in a new way. You will understand water, touch fire, feel the stone, hear the earth, see the wind.

If you do not know how, then youโ€™ll learn how to bake bread, chop firewood, make soap, grow zucchini, heat a stove, clean a fireplace, gather herbs, identify edible mushrooms, roast chestnuts, prepare cement, build walls, make furniture, live without Facebook and turn garbage into something useful.

Volunteer: What do we expect from you

First of all, a sincere desire to work and learn. We really hope that you come to us not only for the opportunity to save money on travel. And actually, youโ€™ll get something more than a trivial touristic journey.

We do our best to make your stay comfortable and good and look forward to an honest return on your part. We need helpers and therefore we are waiting for you.

The work is varied. We will build, break, repair, clean, wash, paint, sew, prick, weed, dig, plant, water, collect and not only. Sometimes you have to do something weird. For example, paint the sculptures of chicken paws in pink or lay out a giant question mark with wooden boards on the ground.

Most of the work we do outdoors and the schedule may change depending on the weather. On average, the daily work is about five hours, but if we learn today that we work 3 hours, tomorrow, we may have to work 7.

Are accommodation and food included?

Yes, we offer food and accommodation

What type of accommodation can you provide?
Diet โ€“ nutrition information

Mostly vegetarian. We do occasionally eat meat. We can accommodate Vegetarians and Vegans without problems.

VISA โ€“ could you provide Visa support/info/invitation letters?

No, unfortunately, we cannot help with VISA

Volunteersโ€™ benefits:

Volunteers can fully experience the project, meet new interesting people, participate in workshops and tours (if it is possible), learn new skills and connect to nature.

Language

English, Italian, and Russian.

Geography

We are one hour and fifteen minutes from Turin, a city that is worthwhile to explore. The city is plenty of museums and interesting spots. Our house is located in the municipality of Rorร , a small village that you can reach by walking 15-20 minutes from our house. In Rorร  there is an interesting museum about the local culture where you can access free internet wifi. There are also a small shop and a public library. If you love nature, you can enjoy the surrounding area: there are a lot of pathways around our house. 5 minutes walking from us there is a waterfall with an amazing natural swimming pool where you can have a fresh bath. Every day there is something new to discover around us, even for us.

How to get to your site

YOU CAN REACH US taking a direct train from Torino Porta Susa or Torino Lingotto to Pinerolo. From Pinerolo train station you need to take a bus to Luserna San Giovanni (901 โ€“ direction Torre Pellice). It is a 20 minutes ride. The bus departs just in front of the ticket office at the Pinerolo train station. We will meet you at Luserna San Giovanni bus stop (if we are available, need to agree in advance), otherwise, you can easily hitchhike to our house. Usually, most people know where we are.

Is there internet access?

No, we donโ€™t have WIFI
