I started this project in November 2025 in πŸ“ Marbella, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, minutes from an amazing surf break. It has always been my dream to build a natural, healthy home/homestead near a clean, clear ocean with great waves and the ability to harvest my fish.

The dream is turning into reality! However, last summer was super intense, as I had to do most of the work on my own because my job did not pay enough to support the building work. I was exhausted to a degree that was unhealthy.

Now I want to ask for help, hopefully exchanging a beautiful experience, many delicious healthy meals, some adventures, and new friendships.

If you’re a good person, have no vices, value healthy living, and like to move, we will have a wonderful time creating together!

What kind of help do I need?

I need people who can lift heavy objects, handle high heat, enjoy working, and are somewhat good with their hands. Most of all, I appreciate an openness to learn, appreciate, and adapt.

I’d like us to work together for around 6 hours a day, 5 days a week (sometimes 4 days), leaving 2 or sometimes 3 days off per week.

Our daily routine

The routine is an early morning first breakfast (a light fruit bowl, sometimes healthy baked goods), stretching, a 1-2 hour beach session, and then a second breakfast (2 eggs, plantain, avocado, pico de gallo).

We work for a few hours (sometimes before surfing, depending on the tide and swell), take a nap, have a light snack with matcha or stimulating tea/coffee, stretch, and work for a few more hours.

For dinner, we have lots of soups, fish, sometimes chicken, and always a variety of veggies. I can accommodate vegetarians or other food preferences to a degree.

Sometimes we have a bonfire with guitar, and then rest.

Of course, this routine is optional, but preferred, as I would like us to at least work together at the same times.

Accommodation and meals

I can offer a ranchito I built out of teak posts and new metal roof panels. There will be two single beds available in the ranchito, as well as an outhouse and an outdoor shower.

I provide two wholesome meals a day, snacks, and fresh water. Laundry services are coming soon.

I can also provide transportation around town when trips are made, and you’re welcome to ride along to the beach 1-2 times a day. You could also walk there, but I find walking to be more enjoyable on the beach.

Availability and practical details

No smoking, drinking, or drugs allowed at all.

Getting here

Volunteers can travel via Liberia Airport and will need to cover their own travel expenses to reach Marbella.
