Volunteer on a paradise small island in the Caribbean!
We are looking for a special being who wants to live and volunteer in our tiny Caribbean Island of Cayman Brac for 3 months, starting anytime from now to the beginning of January until March 2025. This place is very special and raw, it feels like the womb of Mother Earth.
What we are looking for:
The position will provide a yoga instructor with an unique opportunity to help promote and grow a spiritual community whilst also having a lot of time to work on their own spiritual practice and enjoy the island. Your time will be divided between teaching yoga classes and self-managing social media/marketing for yoga and rock climbing.
We also teach yoga at the local resort and other locations when requested. It’s important that you have experience and passion in social media and marketing. Experience in editing photos and videos will be a plus. Most important is that you are on the spiritual path and you are sharing yoga and your authentic Self with Love. Willing to take initiative in anything that comes up as we are a very small company.
If you have a love for gardening and natural building it will be a big plus and a possibility for extra income. My intention is to turn this into the temple of the Gods, no separation, a formless God represented by all forms. A soul land, where every part of the land has love and care. A place for healing, a place for meditation, silence and stillness. A home to many yogis.
Who are we?
The Yogi Wall is a magical place, nested between the Bluff and the Sea, it was born from a passion to share yoga as a whole from the Heart. It’s the only place on the island that offers yoga. We have a small community with a huge potential for growing. We already offer hatha, vinyasa, meditation, yin, restorative, moon salutations, women circle, breathwork and mandala painting. If there is anything else that you would like to offer as dance classes, pilates, art, craft, bajans, sound healing – this all welcome to add to our offerings! We have a harmonium and some drums here if you are a musician.
What can we offer?
Nobody on the island can work without a work permit and health insurance. So, this is important to us that you are available and committed to the 3 months. We are offering you a 3 month work permit, 3 months of basic health insurance, a scooter to get around and a beautiful accommodation by the ocean with your own room, you’ll be sharing living space and a kitchen with a couple. You’ll pay for your own food and petrol.
What do we ask?
About 25 hours work per week, this includes teaching 5-10 yoga classes per week (mostly like 5), plus time promoting the rock climbing and yoga business in the media and in the community, helping to create marketing campaigns, contents and yoga/climbing weekend retreats. Our yoga studio is outdoor, so racking leaves around the studio once a week is also a task. It’s important that you are open to help in whatever is needed as we are a very small business and we normally move around different tasks ourselves.
Please only apply if you yourself have a strong spiritual practice and understand and follow Yogic Philosophy, specially the Yamas and Niyamas.
What to do in Cayman Brac?
World famous for scuba diving, it has one of the deepest walls in the world. You can also enjoy just snorkeling and free diving. Bird watching, hiking, caving and world class rock climbing.
Cayman Brac is a very small and remote island, the climate is hot and humid, the best climate is from Dec-Mar. Our main business is rock climbing, which financially supports our passion to share yoga with the community here. If you are a rock climbing instructor or just an avid rock climber it will be a plus for this position.
Please send an email to angel@climb.ky with a cover letter mentioning how you can contribute to our community and please share about your current spiritual journey and your intentions to come here. We’ll read only messages with a cover letter.
We are not looking for someone who is willing to go anywhere, we want you to feel the call in your heart to come here. You’ll feel in your heart this is for you and I am sure we will feel the same on our side when receiving your message.
