Activities: Vegetable garden and olive grove/orchard – Depending on the season, hoeing, collecting, cleaning with grass, cutting the brambles, mulching…
- Olive harvesting, from November to December
- Collecting fruits and wild herbs
- Jams and preserves
- Cut wood for the fire
Accommodations
normally, if it is free, there is a Trullo (stone construction typical of Valle d’Itria) available to Voluntourists (we normally do not host more than 2 at a time). There is space for 2-4 people, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, heating and fireplace. Or, more easily in the summer, in a shade tent, with the availability of a private external bathroom and an outdoor kitchen, attack on the electricity of the house. Wifi internet connection.
A hand in the construction of structures and other jobs:
- Painting
- Construction of canopies or other wooden structures
- Raw earth oven and more
Miscellaneous and possible:
Sometimes it can happen to play with our children while we are their neighbours, a bit ‘of babysitting is really welcome!
Meals:
We like eating together, cooking together, washing together! If for various reasons we can not do it, we obviously provide the food and thevolunteers are autonomous. We try to use vegetables from the garden, when there are, and wild herbs.
Cleaning together, especially the spaces we use together (kitchen, living room, patio) is very important to us
Required work time: 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. At the beginning of the week, let’s do a program together. We require a certain autonomy, it can happen that we will not always be present during the day!
Leisure:
there are many towns and cities of art in the area, as well as wonderful walks. You can reach by bus: Ostuni (7 km); Cisternino (7km), Martina Franca (14km), Ceglie Messapica (14km) Alberobello, Lecce (80km); Matera (100km) by train.
THE BUS STOP is 1.2 km direction: Ostuni or Cisternino
WE HAVE 2 BICYCLES
A minimum period of the permanence of exchange hospitality-work:
