Teach conversational English in Istanbul

We are a center founded in 2020 to teach English and create cultural exchange between foreign teachers and Turkish university students/adults. There is also the opportunity to learn Turkish as a result of this exchange. We are located in a quiet neighborhood of Sisli, Istanbul, a metro ride away from the city’s world-famous cultural attractions. We are an organization majorly based on Speaking Skills for every type of English levels (from the Beginner level to the Advanced level). The organization contains foreign aiding-teachers as well as permanent Turkish teachers for speaking activities including different types of discussions, games and role-plays. We would like to see new faces having diverse cultural background at our school.

Teaching

We are always looking for experienced English teachers to work with our more advanced students. TEFL certificate is a bonus, but not required. Here is an opportunity to teach general English and gain valuable experience on your resume.

We cannot provide help with a visa or work permit, as this is a volunteer position. We can provide food and accommodation. The volunteer house has 3 bedrooms and 6 people, so you will be sharing a room with 1 other person.

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations 📝

We expect our volunteers to be outgoing and proactive in conversation-making and activity planning tasks. It is a plus to have teaching experience, but we can also welcome native speakers without much experience. It’s all about the vibes and the atmosphere.

You will be engaging with a lot of locals at our academy. Because it is a social environment, you can build deeper bonds with our members and become friends with them.

The academy and the house are very close to the main metro line in Istanbul, so you can explore the city in your free time during the day. Some members are also willing to take you on a tour to their favourite spots in the city.

We are in the centre of Istanbul. Once you get to Istanbul by plane, bus or train, you can access our academy using the metro or metrobus.
