Remote volunteer fundraiser for Animals of Our World (Cambodia)

This opportunity was shared in our slow travel volunteer Facebook community and is also publicly listed on VeganJobs.com as a remote volunteer role.

Animals of Our World (AOOW) is a UK-registered charity that runs the House of Strays sanctuary in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The project provides a safe home and veterinary care to neglected, abused, or abandoned animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, cows, and chickens. The team also supports local families whose animals need urgent medical help and runs vaccination and spay or neuter work in the area.

By combining rescue, long-term sanctuary, medical outreach, and education, Animals of Our World aims to reduce suffering and strengthen animal welfare in Cambodia. The charity has a clear vegan and animal rights focus and welcomes supporters from around the world.

The remote volunteer fundraiser role

The sanctuary is looking for remote volunteer fundraisers who can support their work from home. The role focuses on helping to plan and improve online fundraising that covers veterinary costs, daily care for the animals, and practical needs at the sanctuary.

As a volunteer, you collaborate with the head fundraiser, the founder, and the social media team. Typical tasks can include:

Who this opportunity is for

This role suits fundraising or marketing students, recent graduates, and anyone with some experience in communications who wants to support a vegan animal sanctuary. You should be comfortable working online and using simple tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, and social media analytics. Good written English is important, and it helps if you enjoy storytelling and creating clear, engaging posts.

The charity asks for a flexible commitment of around 10 to 20 hours per week over three months, with a possible extension if both sides are happy. The role is open to volunteers from any country, as long as you have reliable internet access and enough time to contribute.

Practical details and ethics

This is an unpaid volunteer position and is advertised as such. There is no participation fee mentioned. Since the work is fully remote, you volunteer from your current location and cover your own living costs as normal. It can be a good option if you want to gain experience in nonprofit fundraising and support animals in Cambodia without travelling.

Before applying, read the full description on VeganJobs.com and ask the charity any questions you have about expectations, support, and feedback. A clear agreement about weekly hours and tasks will help keep the collaboration fair and sustainable for both you and the sanctuary.
