Offering a House in Las Peñitas, León, Nicaragua
I own a house in Nicaragua that will be available from April until September, October, November, or December 2025. I’m open to renting it out, but if I don’t receive any offers, I’m willing to let someone stay for free, asking only for reimbursement of basic utilities (electricity and water) and a minimum level of care for the property.
I’m a private individual, not affiliated with any volunteer projects, but I believe this opportunity might interest travellers or voluntourists. The house is located in front of a nature reserve where sea turtle conservation projects take place, making this an even more unique and immersive experience.

- From April 2025 to the end of November 2025
I’m open to monthly stays but would prefer a single guest for 6–8 months.
House description
The property consists of a furnished room (35 sqm) with a double bed, a kitchen, a sink, and a refrigerator.
- The roof was recently renovated.
- The fridge, bed, mattress, stove, and dresser were all purchased in January 2025 and are practically new.
- Front area (90 sqm) includes a bathroom with a shower and a water tank and is entirely open.
There is no fixed internet connection (you can install one at your expense), but you can work remotely with a simple SIM card. Alternatively, you might be able to arrange access to a neighbour’s wired internet.
Electricity and water are available, and a gas cylinder is provided for cooking.
In front of the house, there’s a 40 sqm patio. (In the photos, you can see a typical wooden rancho, which will be removed in March and rebuilt in December.)
Location 📍
The house is located in Bocana de Las Peñitas, a beach area that floods with the tide twice a day, where the sea and river meet.
Just a few meters away is the Juan Venado Nature Reserve 📍— a 17 km stretch of pristine beach and forest extending to Salinas Grande, known for attracting many sea turtles.
We are currently finishing some masonry work, followed by a complete repainting of the front area. Updated photos will be posted soon.
