What is Lifechanyuan?

Lifechanyuan, also known as the New Oasis for Life Commune, is a community founded in 2009 by Xuefeng in Yunnan province, China.

The community integrates elements from various spiritual traditions, including

  • Christianity,
  • Buddhism,
  • Taoism,
  • Islam,

and it aims to create a peaceful and harmonious lifestyle.

The commune initially had about 150 members who shared property and rejected traditional marriage.

However, between 2016 and 2021, the Chinese government disbanded the organization, declaring it illegal.

Xuefeng subsequently moved to Canada, establishing new communities there and in Thailand.

The Thailand branch is located in a peaceful ecovillage supported by a local temple, approximately 180 km from Chiang Mai and 80 km from Chiang Rai. The community welcomes visitors interested in experiencing their lifestyle, offering accommodations and participation in daily activities.

In Canada, the Lifechanyuan International Family Society is a registered non-profit organization.

They plan to create a community capable of accommodating 300 people, tentatively named “Spring Lake Home,” with the location already secured.
